I read on CNN that two trains just hit head on a few days ago. Let's hope that we won't have three train wrecks in one week, then. Last time I went to Toronto on the train we spent about half an hour dead in the "water" (prairie, I guess) with a broken train until they fixed it. We were out in the middle of nothing at all.
Let's see, what else has gone wrong. Child forgot when she was supposed to dog sit and made plans to go to Cedar Point, then made me feel really guilty when she had to rearrange her plans. I broke a sandwich plate to my dishes. It's just Mikasa, but it's also not replaceable any more. I rarely use full sized plates. They look like platters to me. Go compare your current dishes with your grandma's dishes and you will see what I mean. The older dishes look "tiny" compared to the more modern ones. I prefer the smaller ones. I am a small person. I don't need to eat off a trough.
It rained all day the day after I walked away from the half-constructed outdoor container/bench, and the cardboard box is ruined, so I think I am going to patch it with duct tape and hope it doesn't crack any farther. It needs to be waterproof to hold the patio cushions. So far, the replacement parts are not here. I picture them coming today or while I am gone, so the child can have company over who will smoke and burn holes in the fabric cushions before I even use them. She won't do that really, but I am a Class A Worrier.
I needed a new pair of basic black slacks for Toronto so I went where they always have them in my size that fit me. I wear petites, so I have to search for clothes sometimes (sorry, Anne!). They didn't have any.
I am all set to buy a new purse. Then I saw another style by the same company, and I can't decide. The one has a shorter handle and a leather interior. The second one has a longer handle, which I think would be better for longevity as far as style goes, but the interior is canvas. They are both horridly expensive. I don't know what to do now. This is not a huge issue, but I was all ready to buy the one with the shorter handle, now I am unsure.
Without a B12 shot I figured I would be dead in the water in Toronto, since I am still tired all the time. I ran up to my doctor's office, and they had a power failure and were closed. They aren't open today.
Oh, and the endocrinologist who is supposed to call me? She never did. Her office won't be open again until I am in Toronto either. Someone is going to be throwing cold water on me to keep me upright in Toronto.
I also solved my telephone kicking me offline issue. I bought a 900 MHz phone. I am afraid to plug it in. I am sure it doesn't work or is missing a piece or something. I grabbed it the other night when I did all those errands.
I am due for a long string of good luck! It has to start soon, right? I figure it can start as soon as I have to drive all the way through Detroit in the middle of the night alone, then take the tunnel under the Detroit River to Canada, deal with customs, and find the train station in Windsor in the dark. I have absolutely no idea where it is. Last time I went over the Bluewater Bridge with someone else driving. The two times before that I drove myself over it and almost went catatonic. The tunnel is scary enough, but I can't fall off it, so I figure I am good to go. It really doesn't leak all that much. Honest. It's only a little over a mile, so I figure I can run out if I must. Right? I do have claustrophobia issues, but they have more to do with not being able to get out of something than actually being closed in. I don't know if that makes any sense or not. I will do the tunnel. It will get me where I want to go, so I have no choice.

I wouldn't feel bad for making her re-arrange her plans, tough titty said the kitty!
My phone did the same thing when I was on a wireless router...canned that and got my own modem! I couldn't even use my microwave without getting booted.
Goodness....someone needs to stick a horseshoe up your patoot for good luck!! :)
Have fun on your trip!
