I happily sent a cable guy away from here with the cable box for the TV. I only have Internet service from Comcast now, and it has been that way for several months. I still have issues with Comcast and so far have lacked the gumption to deal with telling them how I really feel.
They are still charging me, as they have for a year and a half, $3 a month to rent my own modem.
When I canceled the TV portion, I was astonished to see my next bill had a LOT of extra charges on it. Typical of my ambivalence, I ignored them. I had no idea what they were for, even after I looked them up online. In fact, I went as far as noticing that I could send them a form of email to tell them why I am not happy.
So I did. In detail.
Then, they sent me a response saying that in order to deal with the billing, I had to call them. Luckily, they could not hear my verbal response to that email. The dogs learned new words. Of course, I did not call.
Some explanation came recently. Several times over the last few weeks I have seen Comcast on my caller ID, but when I went to get the message, all I heard was a whining sound, similar to a fax sound. Then, yesterday I was home and picked up a call from Comcast, against my better judgment.
I am sure the young man on the other end of the line regrets making the call. He was a salesman, trying to pitch me to upgrade from basic cable. I made it clear to him that I not only don't have basic cable, I turned in the box several months ago and am being charged all kinds of fees. I asked him why he had kept calling my house and hanging up repeatedly.
He got off the phone fast, telling me he can do nothing, knows nothing, and will not even attempt to do anything.
How is he different from anyone else who works there?
Some day I will deal with all of this by going into their offices. They can deal with me in person, and not shuffle me around. I want to see their eyes when they tell me things like how they justify charging me to rent my own modem, and how they took a "one time payment online" and applied it two months in a row.
I will have to do it on a day with high entertainment potential.

Funny. I am having a small disagreement with comcast at the moment. There is a payment they took buy never posted to my account, and they are telling me that I am trying to say it was two payments when it was really only one...HUH? I paid over the phone with a credit card, but I did not write down that "authorization number." I never thought I would ever have to provide it, as it shows up on my statement. I DO call them. And no one can figure it out. I bet you are not surprised, are you? J
What a rip off. Keep calling and go higher up.
it seems like all these places do is hide fees and try to rip us off.
We need to write to the newspapers and put a stop to their crap.
Get them Suzy.
I haven't had much problems with Comcast but, then we have several other companies that we can turn to for service here. When they start to pull something, I just ask the to completely disconnect our service as I will go to the city for the same service. Usually, I get rates reduced and life goes one. Competition is a wonderful thing!
If you go in, can you have someone video tape it or at least record the voices so we can be with you?

Wishing you luck with that. Why is it that some things we still end up being the looser? I got my taxes lowered by the state and thought things were alright. Got a letter in the mail telling me to be at small claims court Jan 22 at 9 a.m. in the morning. They even fired the guy at the county who handled my claim. lmbo If the state agrees to lower it then they are just hoping that I don't show up for my appointment. lol Guess it all depends on how much power they have. Hard to fight the county and the state but I will at least try. :-) Have a great week. Janie
Good Luck! We have comcast too!

We've had Comcast for years now at home, and thankfully no problems. At my former job, we had Comcast problems, and no one seemed to be able to fix it. good luck with your....hmmm...I guess I should wish THEM good luck when you finally go to visit them. lol

When I first got my internet service hooked up a few years back, we tried using Comcast......among all the problems we had was being billed for the usage even after we cancelled. It wasn't until Doc finally threatened to report them to the better business bureau that they concedes dropped the charges and cancelled our contract once and for all. Never again...I hope you have better luck with them. (Hugs) Indigo
wooo hooo, I love dealing with unsuspecting morans! They make my day! Comcast is losing it's touch around here, today just for fun I counted all the Dishes on people's houses...nearly every one has a dish. Thanks for nothing Comcast! rose
