The eagle has landed

Actually the eagle hasn't landed, but the armoire/desk has. That is the good part. The bad part is that it's in my garage, not my house.

My friend Gary and another friend's son David decided the two of them could move a desk. How big could it be? I said it was pretty big. They found out I was right - it's huge. It's very heavy, too. The got it in the truck, but once it was lying flat we noticed that one leg is cracked in the back. So it needs to be repaired.

They decided they weren't comfortable trying to get it up any stairs in my house, so they put it in my garage.

Of course, I took the old desk out with the crowbar already. I hope we can get the new one repaired and upstairs not too long after I finish painting that room. That is the room I am in the process of painting now. It would help a lot if I could decide on a color for it. Still, just rolling the paint on the walls is the easy part, so I can worry about that later.

Later this evening Gary will come back so we can go pick up a queen-sized bed a friend is giving me so I can make my bedrooms look like bedrooms. I will have to be part of the Moving Crew this time. David went home.

I have another pearl of wisdom. If you have put on spackling to repair some damage in the walls, don't decide to sand it just after you have painted the carpet moldings.

Yeah, I did that this morning.
