Can't disappoint Molly

You really can't see the mud on Molly's face in this picture. You can see that her skin around her eyes is slack. She looks like that when she needs a shot for her Addison's disease. I do prefer to call it a medical condition rather than a disease. She looks like she either wears black lipstick or is growing a mustache, don't you think? (I just took the picture, so she was still stoned on the Valium).

She hit the drugs today (extra prednisone, Valium) and we went for a shot for her. She and Baby managed to break open the bag I had the treats in and spill them all over the sidewalk  - they were pretty happy about that!

We survived another vet visit and shot on the sidewalk without seizures. The volume of her shot was reduced again per my request, so we will see how that goes. I have had them reduce by stages, from 1.2 ml to 1.1 ml to 1.0 ml. I think this will probably be the correct dose for Molly. An electrolyte test on day 14 after her shot will let us know for sure.

Following the shot, we climbed back into the car and headed to the condo. The dogs still don't like the car, but they behaved. Baby started howling as soon as we turned into the complex. She has been there exactly once before. She was climbing on my head by the time I pulled into the driveway! She really acted like she was going home.

We piled out of the car and the door was open to the condo, so we went in like we own the place. I let the dogs wander around for quite a while, but on leash, in case someone came in, and since the door was open. They seemed content, just sniffing around and smiling. We went for a walk down to the pond. My rabbit dogs were trying to get to the geese this time. Last time they totally ignored them, but this time was close to their dinner time. We would have walked around the pond, but there was just too much mud. I saw a lot of deer tracks. We walked on the street for a while, too, just getting used to the smells of the neighborhood.

Another trip back into the condo for more sniffing, and then we climbed back into the car. I looked at Molly - she had mud on her face and a big glob of it on her nose. She was smiling, looking happy. She thinks we will be happy there.

I agree.

oh I agree too. Glad this visit went well. If she is growing a "stash" perhaps waxing is in order?   The thought of waxing a beagle makes me laugh out loud!!!! Anne  (sorry)
